Endodontics

Endodontics is a field within dentistry that deals with root canal treatments.

The need for endodontic treatment is the consequence of untreated caries and penetration of bacteria inside the tooth tissue. The dental pulp dies away, and this is commonly described as the tooth dying.

Dead, untreated teeth are a further source of infections of tissue around the tooth and of the entire organism. Root canal treatment entails the removal of the inner tissue of the tooth – the pulp – cleaning of the canal, disinfecting it and filling with liquid gutta percha.

At our Clinic, root canal procedures are performed using rotary tools, under constant control of the root canal with an endometric measurement device. In difficult endodontic cases, such as skewed canals, clogged canals, broken tools, we work using a microscope.
